In 1980, Barbour released its first short, lightweight jacket, the Bedale. Originally designed for horse riding, the Bedale is loved by many Brits, from royalty to pop icons. Mrs Margaret Barbour designed the Bedale with the practicality of horse riding in mind, with a shorter length, relaxed fit, vented back panels and the essential internal nylon 'drip-strip' that resists moisture from the horse penetrating the jacket. Crafted from a medium-weight 170g waxed cotton with thermal linings and optional zip-off hoods, the Bedale is a great all-year-round jacket.
