Conveying a new perception of the shape of a retro running shoe, the GEL-KAYANO™ 14 running shoe is revived with its late 2000s aesthetic that harks back to our legendary GEL-KAYANO™ series. Reinterpreting the shoe's high-performance features with updated materials and components, this model became the first release in sneaker history to be designed by someone other than Toshikazu Kayano. This passing of the baton revives the legendary values of the franchise, as well as marking a development in the evolution of performance. Mimicking the original manufacturing of the midsole with GEL™ technology cushioning, this shoe also improves the fit of the upper while maintaining the leather and mesh layered structure of 2008. Additionally, the insole is made with a solution dyeing process for reduce water use by 33 % and carbon emissions by approximately 45%.
