Asics UB8-S GT-2160 Brown Storm/Sienna Sneaker. Designed by Kiko Kostadinov Studio and the ASICS Sportstyle development team. The UB8-S GT-2160 sneakers are inspired by the themes of weaving, functional utopias and Mino ceramics. Soft textures are combined with artisanal elements typical of iconic works of art. By creating matte and washed color gradients, the design team was able to enhance the conventional shape and structure of the running shoe. In contrast to the grid patterns and bright colors with a matte finish, the variations inspired by functional utopia have direct correlations with nature. Primary colors with a glossy finish are combined with metallic structures that accentuate the double-layer lattice work. Additionally, the designers studied the influences of Mino ceramics by analyzing current processes to reproduce the rust-like finishes found in artifacts made in this style. This process considers figurative art as a pool from which to draw to find shades of color capable of standing the test of time.
